On the Nature of Redemption
by Lee Duane FitzSimmons
It is never too late to redeem oneself; if one is still alive, then it is not too late. No matter what has occurred in the past, it is always possible for any entity to redeem itself to humanity. The past cannot be changed, but the future has yet to be written. Therefore, redemption always remains an option as long as the heart is still beating. It is never too late to join the ranks of humanity that always seek to do good; it is never too late to change.
It should be remembered that the universe often provides a means for eliminating certain evil elements of reality by allowing noble individuals to become corrupted. There are multiple reasons for this type of situation. When a noble heart is corrupted, it serves as an example to others about what not to do. It also lets the evil of the corruption be shown in a way that is far more dramatic and allows for the evil to be perceived by more individuals. When this type of situation occurs, it can be viewed as a type of sacrifice where a corrupted noble soul serves as an example that allows for a greater instruction of humanity.
Pure hearts are also corrupted so that the defenses of an evil entity can be infiltrated, and a surprise attack within the interior of an evil entity can be made. An assault coming from the outside can be more easily repulsed; therefore, in order to destroy an extremely powerful force of evil, an attack from the interior is usually more effective. Once a corrupted force of goodness has infiltrated an evil entity, it has the element of surprise and can launch a far more effective assault.
This type of scenario is often necessary; it is especially needed when a force of evil has grown so powerful that is has permeated almost every aspect of a society. It should also be remembered that any individual that desires redemption can always change and attack the evil to which it once belonged. It is never too late for redemption; it is never too late for hope. It should also be remembered that if one person rises up and changes from evil to good, then others may be inspired by this action and follow suit. It is never too late to redeem one's soul.
It is never too late to change.
