In the first section of this piece, techno percussion and mallets set up the basic feel of the groove for four bars. In the fifth bar, twin Spanish guitars enter the soundstage and perforn the main melody of the piece as choral ambience is added to the musical texture. Eight bars later, the texture changes slightly for four bars, as the guitars begin playing sustained tones along with the electric piano. The entire cycle repeats several times and then fades. On some of the repeats, a single acoustic guitar plays a solo. On the other repeats, the main two-part melody is played.
This piece invokes the rich and luxurious currents of lavish fashion trends that are still sensible and not ostentatious. Such is the rich nature of silk. It is very rich and lavish, yet it is still highly practical and not merely another pathetic example of conspicuous consuption. It is smooth and soft and worthy of its designation as a luxury item, because it is truly luxurious.
