LYRICS

"Slappin' the monk key, slappin' the monk key, slappin' the monk key, slappin' the monk key...

More money, more honey, more reason to rhyme. Stackin' it, backin' it all of the time, doin' it right, makin' it climb.

Work it on back as it flows to the sea. To free to be true, to true to be free, to free to be right, right into me.

Slam it on back as the sunlight comes in. Livin' lovin' little lady, my silvery friend. She's just a lingerin' long singin' her song, well yeah, yeah...

Whippin' it, dippin' it, nippin' it good. Do it, to it, through it, knew that you could...

Slap the monk key, slappin' the monk key, silly snake crawlin' right up the fun key.

Slap the monk key, slappin' the monk key, silly snake crawlin' right up the fun key.

Put the fun key rite up the monk key. Up the monk... up, up, the monk key.

Slappin' the monk key, slappin' the monk key, slappin' the monk key, slappin' the monk key...

Comin' on down as the free fallin' rain. Shakin' it, takin' it, wakin' it, makin' it, grow as it is, grow it and gain.

Got to be there like a funky-ass rhyme. Got to be feedin' it, got to be breedin' it, tickin' and tockin' and takin' the time.

Bring it on in 'cause it's supposed to there, yeah, yeah... Messy boy, messy, messy boy, breathe it all in. It's sharin' the air.

Right back at ya 'cause I knew that you would. Whippin' and dippin' and trippin' it good. Knew that you would. Knew that you would...

Up the monk, up, up the monk key (slappin' it) Up the monk, up, up the monk key (slappin' it)

Up the monk, up, up the monk key (slappin' it) Up the monk, up, up the monk key (just slappin' it)

Up the monk, up, up the monk key (just slappin' it) Up the monk, up, up the monk key (just slappin' it)

Up the monk, up, up the monk key (just slappin' it) Up the monk, up, up the monk key (just slappin' it)"

Congas and the sounds of the ocean provide the aural backdrop for a radio-filtered vocal that annunciates the title of the song. A tom fill in bar four then ushers in the main groove at bar five. The main groove template is in 12/8 time and features some highly syncopated bass rhythms that are thickened by a clavichord. The piano plays neat R&B chords in a static fashion as a shaker and high hat float on top of the groove. A cycle of major seventh chords (with added ninth tensions) is used as the harmonic backdrop for the chorus of the tune, as the beat shifts to double time and the triangle and ride cymbal replace the shaker and the high hat. The entire cycle repeats for the second verse and then the piece fades.

The monk key is the elevation of the kundalini energies that is made possible by temporary periods of celibacy. The silly snake is the serpentine essence of these copper frequenicies of Venus - the goddess and the planet are one and the same. Thus, slappin' the monk key is an individual actually using the techniques of the monks to elevate the frequencies of the kundalini energies that flow from the root chakra near the tailbone up into the center of the skull.

The silly nature of the lyrics expresses the fact that the kundalini energies are natural and normal. They are not mystical secrets that should be shrouded in secrecy and hidden away in some sacred spiritual temple. They are a regular part of human existence and should not be taken seriously at all.

They are nothing more than another aspect of reality.

Nothing more, nothing less.
