This brisk jazz waltz gallops at full speed until the piece is over. The main section (performed on a live Takamine acoustic guitar) features a simple, yet effective lead that is built on three notes. This melodic contruction is broken up by improvised bits that employ a lot of open string trills and a strong Spanish flair. In the chorus, the lead acoustic guitar uses double stops for its melodic presentation as the tonal center is shifted down a step. The chorus carefully closes out, and the main groove returns. The entire form is then repeated, and the lead guitar joins the piano's rhythmic groove just before the pony ride comes to an end.
This piece is expressive of the nature of the pony that runs underneath the silver moon in the wee hours of the morn through the magical valley of the enchanted realms. The maiden fair that rides this pony possesses the greatest emotional intelligence in all of the kingdom; thus, tthe magical pony of silver allows her to ride bareback for this sacred ride. Because of her perfect control of her emotions, her weight is never felt by the pony. In fact, her presence actually allows the sacred animal to run even faster. Thus, the two produce a divine synergy.
