LYRICS

See her walking out by the garden, the motions in her stare are strange with stillness almost forgetten...

the memory she always carries...

Long ago when she was still a girl - back before the grieving came...

"Mother, oh Mother," she cries, "Come back to me..."

She calls to the winds to hear Her spirit answer,"Oh, my baby girl..."

"I'm always with you - above and behind, 'cause you always see me in the sunlight of your mind,

as you're calling to my memory... don't be so sad, girl... you're not a bad girl...

you're beautiful."

See him standing there by the window, passion in his face. He's quite the man of good reputation...

But it means nothing without Her...

Long ago when the summer stayed forever... long before the restless days...

"Mother, oh Mother," he cries, "Come back to me..."

He calls to the wind to hear Her spirit answer, "Oh, my baby boy..."

"I'm always with you - above and behind, 'cause you always see me in the sunlight of your mind,

as you're calling to my memory... don't be so sad, boy... you're not a bad boy...

you're beautiful."

Listen to the wind cry out for Her. Gentle its siren song softy is heard.

See her walking out by the garden the motions in her stare... are strange with stillness almost forgetten...

the memory she always carries...

Long ago when she was still a girl - back before the grieving days...

"Mother, oh Mother," she cries, "Come back to me..."

She calls to the wind to hear Her spirit answer,"Oh, my baby girl..."

"I'm always with you - above and behind, 'cause you always see me in the sunlight of your mind,

as you're calling to my memory... don't be so sad, girl... you're not a bad girl...

you're beautiful."

This Latin ballad begins with a four bar intro that sets up the first verse that contains three sections and then segues into the chorus, where the triangle and ride cymbal replace the guiro and woodblocks. This entire form repeats for the second verse and then the bridge is presented as the wind chimes are added to the mix. A third verse and chorus follow and then the piece repeats the last line several times as the track fades.

The lyrics have a far deeper spiritual meaning than merely that of a lady and a gentleman expressing their sorrow for their departed mothers. This song is about humanity's collective sorrow that was caused by its separation from Mother Earth. This separation began at the beginning of the Iron Age and still continues to this day. The lyrics of the chorus are the voice of Mother Earth reminding humanity that man and woman are not evil children of an overly jealous Jove Pater (Jehovah Father) and that this horrific corruption of Nature is only temporary...

She is always with us, and all we have to do is call to Her and She will answer...

We are one...

and We are beautiful...
